Michael Cain has gone from a tradesman to a television journalist in Australia’s biggest markets in under 10 years.

His journey started at the age 35 when he was stopped in the street in his lunch break by a talent scout looking for potential male models.

From that day Michael’s life changed.

Photographic work, television commercials and presenting work followed-before realising he was so close to a career he’d always wanted – but never thought was possible.

After starting a community radio soccer show in Newcastle, doors opened as he connected with heavy hitters of the industry until one day SBS Television came calling, offering the most unbelievable break. A 6-week contract covering the 2010 World Cup Finals in South Africa.

The opportunity to report on the biggest sporting event in the world was the resume he needed to turn from part-time to full-time as a journalist and did it without the help of any university degree.

Since 20-10 he’s interviewed Prime Ministers, actors, celebrities and sports stars and everyone in between.

From Prime 7 news in Wagga to NBN news Tamworth, Central Coast and Newcastle- to now the leading sports reporter for Sydney’s TEN Eyewitness news.

Michael only recently produced and presented a 3-part documentary series for Channel 10 called “Passionate Players”, which follows the travels of multi millionaires and billionaires and is currently filming the next series which will air in 20-19.

In his talk Michael will discuss his trials, tribulations, pitfalls, triumphs and regrets he’s experienced along the way, while showing how anyone can step out of their comfort zone and achieve just about anything aimed for.
